When staying in London, you can’t go wrong with The Tommyfield Hotel. Conveniently set in the well-connected Kennington, close to the beating heart of London. The pub and rooms are both cool, stylish and relaxed as well as being very fairly priced for such a well stocked offering.

On entering the downstairs restaurant, we strolled up to the bar and queried for the reception, only to be answered by a tall, laid back barman exclaiming, ‘I am the reception’. After a giggle he promptly gave us the keys to our room with all the necessary information. The bar stays open until 11pm Monday to Wednesday then late from Thursday onwards. The rooms peacefully keep the sounds from below well away from staying guest’s ears, and you are free to come and go as you please with a code for the separate outer door.

There are six modern and individually designed bedrooms. The exposed brick walls give them a real city apartment feel and the floor to ceiling tiled bathrooms show the character of the establishment. The rooms are decked out with all sorts of goodies which makes this stay a luxury choice in my book.

The fridge comes stocked with fresh fruit, orange juice and water that’s replenished each day you stay. But the Nespresso coffee machine is what excited me most; Different flavoured capsules are there for your choosing, just froth up the milk and you have quality coffee throughout your stay! Porridge and muesli are also provided, so you aren’t ever left feeling hangry in the mornings.

The bathrooms are above and beyond your expectations, gorgeous green tiles excite the space and a choice of a cast iron, stand alone bath or a waterfall, walk-in shower is on offer. We decided to take our free breakfast and enjoy the breeze with breakfast in the bath. Not a bad way to start the day!

The food in the restaurant below is half price, and this serves delicious, hearty meals from sustainable sources and with a well made cocktail to go with. The half price food is for staying guests and this adds to the surprising and special luxury that The Tommyfield offers for their great prices. There is a friendly and buzzing vibe in the restaurant that’s well worth trying on your trip.

Though the hotel is also well located to dine anywhere in central London, with a few great pubs nearby to venture out to as well. A two-minute walk from Kennington tube station makes The Tommyfield an ideal London stay. Book rooms for rates between £80 to £149 and have a real London city experience in style and comfort.
